exploring the worlds wildest places: stories. images. expeditions.
I moved to Bozeman, Montana from Kansas City in 2012. Since then, I have eagerly devoured as much new ground as I can across the western US. Most of the photographs here were taken in Montana- especially the Lee Metcalf wilderness, the Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness, the Bob Marshall wilderness, the Selway-Bitteroot wilderness- and anywhere within easy drive of Bozeman. Like most of the adventures these photographs represent, I am unfortunately obligated to leave mere images. It would take a very large book to recount all the tales- the night visit by a grizzly bear- or the time I watched a black wolf and a white wolf stalk a herd of elk- the close encounters with bull elk and black bears- the nights spent stumbling down mountain-tops toward my car- and the many profound sunsets from a backcountry bivvy camp. I cant think of a better place to raise my tiny new kids than the mountains of the West.
